Organization

In a life-span of over 50 years, Verhoeckx & Zn. developed from a small-scale mushroom trading firm into a well-established wholesale organization with an excellent reputation among its clients.

Founder Richard Verhoeckx started out as a small-scale mushroom trader. He would buy the product from growers and at auctions, selling it to market vendors and shops. In 1978, the business was taken over by Frits Verhoeckx, Richard’s brother. He proceeded to expand the business with enthusiasm and drive, holding on to what was right and building up what needed to be built up. When the business added fruit as a product group to the range, this marked the beginning of a shift in course. The modernization was realized with vision and a good policy, sending Verhoeckx & Zn. off into a future where it can now hold its own with the best in this line of business in the Netherlands.

Paul Verhoeckx, son of Frits, is the current manager of the organization, and he devotes most of his time and special care to the mushroom department and to innovations in business operations. Frits Verhoeckx is still actively involved in the company, and is responsible for the management of the fruit department.

Verhoeckx & Zn. trades approximately 100 tons of mushrooms every week. Elsewhere at this web site you can view the product range. Based on new developments in the area of product quality preservation, and based on the needs of the clients with respect to external appearance, the range of packaging materials and designs was expanded drastically.
